Tim Tebow's Girlfriend is Camilla Belle

Once again we come to you with a post that has little to nothing to do with sports... but eh who really cares.

According to TMZ, New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow is unofficially/officially dating someone.  That's right Tim Tebow has a girlfriend.  The lucky young lady is Camilla Belle. Ms. Belle is an actor with a few movies to her credit. However, her new high profile boyfriend may prove to be bigger than any role she has earned to date.

Justin Verlander's Hot Girlfriend

There have been plenty of rumors over the years about Detroit Tigers ace pitcher Justin Verlander and his dating life.  After another lights out performance last night, the rumor mill was fired up again for the Cy Young winner.  However, this time the rumors were curtsey of an unlikely source.

Verlander's grandfather, Richard Verlander Sr., told Celebuzz: "I heard he has been on dates with a Sports Illustrated girl. I saw a photo — she's beautiful.
"They make a good looking pair because he's a good looking man too," said his proud granddad.
"I do know he's on the dating scene. Justin is a fine boy and whoever he ends up with is lucky. He's not only a great baseball player, he's a great guy," he gushed.
The Sports Illustrated girl that Richard Verlander is talking about is none other than cover girl Kate Upton.  Yes that Kate Upton.  If these rumors are true, it just proves that once again Justin Verlander is a man among boys. Ace pitcher, ace with the ladies, way to do all of us Virginia boys proud Justin.

Chad Johnson Fired on Hard Knocks

HBO does a great job with pretty much all of their television shows, especially the dramas.  Look at the list of great shows, and it's a Hall of Fame of great television.  One show that has been on for years, but rarely gets the credit it deserves is Hard Knocks.  Maybe it's because the show follows a NFL team, and not enough people are into football.  Or perhaps people don't think NFL players can have the depth of a Tony Soprano or an Omar.

On Tuesday night's episode of Hard Knocks all of that changed.  Anyone who has watched a season of the show has witnessed a struggling rookie, or a vet trying to hold on be let go, and have to "turn in his playbook" But on Tuesday night, the nation witnessed the end of one of the most flamboyant NFL careers in history when Miami Dolphins Coach Philbin was forced to let Chad Johnson go.

As everyone knows Chad Johnson was involved in an altercation with his  (soon to be former) wife.  Johnson was arrested for allegedly headbutting her, and he spent the night in jail, before being released on bail on Sunday.  On Monday evening, Chad Johnson was brought into the Miami Dolphins training facility where he heard the news about the future of his NFL career.
HBO announced on Monday they would air the footage of Chad Johnson being let go. And why not? It should have made for great TV, and boy did it ever.  I knew Johnson was fired, and knew the outcome of the scene going in.  However, that did not prepare me for the emotion I felt while watching it all unfold before my eyes.

If it was real or another Ocho Cinco act, I do not know.  What I do know is I could feel the emotion coming through the screen, and I could feel the pain as if you could see the light going out inside of Chad's head, and on his career.

In the end, HBO was correct this made for amazing television, and one of the most compelling scenes I've ever seen.

Lindenwood to Unveil Ugly Football Field

Ever since Boise State made the 'Smurf Turf" popular we have seen other small schools attempt to recreate the magic of a unique looking field and generate some publicity for their school.  However, what many of those schools forget is Boise State has a great football team that plays on top of that pretty blue turf.  Nonetheless, the attempts to grab attention have not ceased, and now Lindenwood University in Illinois have joined in on the fun, with an unforgettable field, that may take the cake as the ugliest football field.

Most of you don't know who Lindenwood University is, they are a NAIA school located in the mid-west, who is probably better known for their top ranked men's rugby program.  The 2012 season will be the schools first exposure to NAIA football, and they will be sure to leave an impression. But they will struggle for attention against this hideous striped field.

Stephanie Rice Hot Bikini Pics Too Hot For Olympics

With the Olympics just around the corner, much of the world is doing their best to catch up on who's who, and who they should be cheering for come August.  While there are plenty of specials to help get different Olympic athletes names out there, a few athletes have taken it upon themselves to do their own marketing.  And honestly what better way to marketing yourself than Tweet out a hot picture of you wearing a new bikini you received as a birthday present from designer Ellie Gonsalves?

Happy birthday Stephanie Rice, the heads of the Australian Olympic committee may not like this, but we think it's one helluva way to get your name out there.

Apparently Stephanie is no stranger to exposing herself on Twitter. A few years ago she posted a picture of her posing as a racy police officer.

The be fair however, Stephanie is more than just a pretty face.  She is a three time gold medalist, and the current 400m IM world record holder.  So look for her to be making even more noise come London 2012

Happy Anniversary Doc Ellis and the LSD No Hitter

Chances are you don't remember why June 13 is special, and I can promise that you will never find any footage of this memorable day. But as more and more pitchers are tossing no hitters in the MLB, its important for us to remember one of the greatest no hitter performances of all time.

42 years ago today, Doc Ellis tossed a no hitter while pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Perhaps the most impressive part of this is, Doc was "tripping" on LSD while pitching the perfect game.  And you thought David Wells was hardcore for his perfect game with a hangover.

MLB has banned all footage and images from the game, but lucky for us we do have the re-enactment that I am pretty sure is accurate.

Bryce Harper Hates Clown Questions

Bryce Harper is lighting the MLB on fire, and making the Washington Nationals a league wide story.  However despite all of the early success, Harper is keeping a level head, and not allowing silly questions to distract him from the task at hand.  Check out Bryce Harper's reaction when a reporter ask the 19 year old phenom about a possible celebratory drink after the Nats pick up a win in Toronto.

Junior Seau Commits Suicide

It is with heavy hearts that we have to report, former NFL linebacker Junior Seau is dead according to reports coming from TMZ and other sources. While initial details are still vague it is believed Seau committed suicide, in his home in California.

Junior Seau was an All-Pro linebaker who made his name with the San Diego Chargers even taking them to a Super Bowl.  He ended his career as a member of the New England Patriots.  After football Seau ventured into some broadcast work, where he showed great promise.

In 2010 Seau crashed his car into a ravine after being charged with assault against his girlfriend.  There was talk this may have been a suicide attempt, but Seau refuted those claims stating he simply fell asleep behind the wheel.

Seau is survived by his three children.

Tampa Bay Bucs Sign Eric LeGrand

With news of the BountyGate fallout continuing to come out of New Orleans, it's easy to forget there can be feel good moments in today's NFL.  Despite being at the beginning of a rebuilding process, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers managed to bring a feel good story to us all this morning.  The Bucs announced earlier today they have signed former Rutgers player Eric LeGrand to a free agent deal.

For those who don't know, Eric LeGrand was a player on Rutgers football.  In 2010 during a game against Army LeGrand ran down field to make a play on special teams. After taking a hit, he received what he figured was a stinger.  However, it was far worse, LeGrand fractured his C-3 and C-4 vertebrae and was paralyzed from the neck down.  Doctors were unsure if he would be able to breathe without the aid of a ventilator.  Eric proved them wrong a month latter when they removed his breathing aid. He continued to improve over time, teaching himself to stand with the aid of metal structure, and slowly teaching himself to walk again.

In one of the all time great moments in NCAA football, LeGrand led Rutgers onto the field one year after suffering his injury.

Now as the rest of LeGrand's classmates waiting phone calls from GM's about their status, Eric was left at home knowing his phone would not ring. That was the case til Tampa Bay head coach Greg Schiano came calling, and offered LeGrand a free agent contract with his new team. Schiano, knew he could attest to the character and the strength LeGrand possesses.  He was his head coach at Rutgers when he was injured and he watched him rehab, and rebuild himself.  Over the last year the two have built a strong relationship. And even though LeGrand may not be able to help out on the field, Schiano understands what an influence he can be in the locker room. An especially important aspect when you consider the Bucs are one of the youngest teams in football, and establishing character and determination will be key in the rebuilding process.

It does not happen all the time, but for now, this is one story that has a happy ending.  All of us here at Walker Sports are happy for Eric LeGrand and his family, and we're proud of Coach Schiano and the Tampa Bay Bucs for stepping up and doing the right thing.

Warren Sapp New TV Gig

Warren Sapp has had a rough 2012.  First he outs Jeremy Shockey as the leak in the Saints BountyGate scandal. Which it seems he was horrible wrong about. Then Sapp was forced to file for bankruptcy.  An impressive feat when you consider the money he made as a player, and the fact that he has stared on two NFL related television shows since retirement. Finally to top everything off Sapp's contract with the NFL Network is set to expire in August, and amid all the controversies, it is possible he is not picked up for another contract. Needless to say, Warren Sapp could use a a pick-me-up in 2012.

According to sources, Sapp may have already found his turnaround venture for 2012.  All rise, for Judge Sapp.  That's right, Mr. Miami Hurricane is taking his vast knowledge of the civil court system and becoming a celebrity judge.  No worries, Sapp is not running for a true position as a judge, think of him more as a Judge Judy, expect nicer...most likely.

It seems that filming for Sapp's new series is already underway, and it could hit the air sometime in the fall.  One this is for sure, give the man an open mic and who knows what may come out.

Bryce Harper Plays Softball on National Mall

Not wanting to jinx anything, but for once it's a great time to be a DC Sports fan.  The Skins had a good, albeit baffling draft. DC United is doing their thing. The Caps are showing the grit and no quit attitude fans have clamored about for years. And the Washington Nationals are tearing it up on the field, despite a rough weekend series against the Dodgers.

Capping off the Nationals amazing play this spring is the arrival of teenage phenom Bryce Harper.  The 19 made his major league debut on Saturday.  During his off day on Monday Bryce made another DC debut when he took the field in one of the local DC alumni softball games that take place on the National Mall.  This is the type of attitude that DC fans want to see more of from their budding superstars.

Fastest 40 Yard Dash Times for Running Backs

It was no secret that the 2012 NFL Draft was lacking marque running backs, and that was emphasized when the backs invited to this year's NFL Combine took the field, and put up some less than impressive times.  While No.1 overall running back Trent Richards sat out of activities it was the perfect opportunity for someone else to step up and make a name for themselves.  That did not happen.  Most surprising was poor result that Oregon Duck speedster LaMichael James posted.

1) Lamar Millier Miami - 4.40

2) Ronnie Hillman  SDSTU - 4.45

2) LaMichael James Oregon - 4.45

2) Chris Rainey Florida - 4.45

5) Cyrus Gray Texas A&M - 4.47

NFL Combine Fastest 40-yard Dash Times for Quarterbacks

With the NFL Combine in full swing in Indianapolis, there's plenty of scouts pouring over hours of footage, and dozens of measurements trying to quantify exactly how the 2012 class of NFL rookies stacks up.  We all heard about Robert Griffin's blazing 40-yard dash time, but he wasn't the only quarterback burning up the turf in Indy.

1) Robert Griffin III Baylor- 4.41

2) Russel Wilson UW-4.55

3) Jordan Jefferson LSU - 4.65

4) Andrew Luck Stanford - 4.65

5) Aaron Corp UR - 4.72

5) Jacory Harris Miami - 4.72

Pat Knight Goes Off at Press Conference Puts Dad to Shame

Pat Knight is Bob Knight's son, and while Pat has not experienced the success his father did while coaching college basketball, Pat certainly shares a short fuse and a knack for great press conferences.  This rant by Knight on his seniors is just epic.

Blake Griffin Dunk of the Year Monster Dunk

We've become accustomed to Blake Griffin being a dunking machine on the NBA court, and with Chris Paul we figured it would be a highlight fest in L.A.  However, on Monday night, a simple, but well placed bounce pass from Chris Paul set up what may be Griffin's best in-game dunk ever. Kendrick Perkins never stood a chance.
