Taking a look at the college football landscape on the upcoming weekend, and as far as marquee games go, things are a little scarce.Thursday’s South Carolina vs. Vandy game may have been the most exciting game on the weekend.Nonetheless, there is football to be played, and that means Walker-Sports is going to talk about it.
The big game on the weekend is the battle taking place in the sunshine state between Miami and Florida. Not the match up it was a decade ago, but it could still prove to be interesting.Miami is in an all out rebuilding mode, and the pieces are coming together quickly for them. But there have not been enough changes to the once mighty program.
Urben Myers has his Gators as focused as ever.Tim Teabow wants to be the best player in the country and he is well on his way to doing just that. The Gators rolled Hawaii in the season opener and they managed that with their best receiver on the bench nursing an injured heel.Saturday the Gators will be at full blast and the Hurricanes won’t be able to escape.
Other NCAA games and picks:
Ga. Tech vs. BostonCollege: This is a tough one but BostonCollege comes away with the win. However, for you gamblers out there don’t be surprised if Ga. Tech covers the +7.
Oklahoma vs. Cincinnati:Oklahoma is stacked and my pick to win a national title, but they make this list as well because I think Cinci can cover the +22 spread. But make it a moderate play and take the over to help insure yourself.
West Virginia vs. East Carolina:East Carolina worked their magic last week against Va. Tech. This week they step up to the big leagues.Pat White wants to be a passing QB, and he will unleash his aerial attack on the Pirates on Saturday.
Michigan vs. Miami Oh: I won’t go as far to say that the Wolverines will be back on track after this game, but they will be moving in the right direction. This will be a good chance for Michigan to establish their running game.Wolverines win and cover the 14 point spread.
Penn St. vs. OregonState: Joe Pa had to suspend several players this week due to drug charges.Despite losing two starters on his D-Line, Joe Pa still has enough talent on his squad this Beaver team. The Lions cover the 15 point spread but keep an eye out on the off the field altercations.
