Erin Andrews traveled to Chicago to cover the Cubs and Brewers series this past week. Now the story of the week should have been the Cubs sweeping the Brewers and taking complete control of the NL Central. However, in this new media age (yes we are a huge part to blame for this), the story in Chicago is Erin Andrews and what she is wearing. Many reporters in various Chicago newspapers have taken ofense to what she wears and how she inner acts with the players in the Clubhouse. Apparently she dresses more for the night club than the clubhouse, and that bothers a lot of people.
Now what this really comes across as is Erin is suffering from typically over hype backlash. (Ask Hootie and the Blowfish how that goes) What I mean is Erin blew up in less than two years. She went from obscure sideline reporter to sex symbol and lead sideline reporter on the 4 letter. Now does she use her looks to help play up her air time? Yes! and she should. She is a pretty woman and she should use that to her advantage. Now what is lost in the whole story is Erin actually is a good sideline reporter (granted I'm not a fan of any sideline reporter). Remember she is not a journalist, it is not her job to break an in depth story or make some long interview. Her job is to get a couple soundbites and interact with the players and coaches, and she does a good job with that.
All that being said, the backlash on Erin is severely over hyped. Enjoy her for what she is, a talented sideline reporter and a sharp dresser.
